Kenneth Huo, the father of a 1st grader, Kevin Huo, is an architect. He recently proposed an architect-in-residence idea to me and Danielle Picchi, our PTA President.

We became very excited about the possibility of beautifying our school with three-dimensional murals on the portable classroom walls, facing the office. Kenneth and I wrote a grant application to the Peninsula Community Foundation.

If funded, the children in the portable classrooms will plan and create these walls next fall. If we do not get funded, we will be looking for other ways to carry out this plan!
